The Role

Reporting into the Head of Direct Sales this hybrid role responsibilities sit across both inside sales and business development to drive direct revenue generating activities,expanding direct sales to drive value, generate revenue and accelerate the adoption of our global fabric. Passionate about growth and innovation, you will be a solution focused self-starter. Through a deep understanding of our technologies, combined with a focus on aligning it with our partners’ products, you will be tasked with architecting, delivering Megaport's Enterprise solution offerings and building a better way for businesses to connect to the cloud.

The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy selling, are achievement-oriented and believe in performance rewards for exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals. The ideal candidate is success-driven, fast-paced, and works well in a diverse team and enjoys a dynamic and changing environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Gather information on target markets, potential clients and the most favourable business models, to drive individual and sales management engagement with clients to define the most effective strategies to penetrate markets and generate interest in Megaport.

  • Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory or vertical to support both individual and team goals.

  • Contacting new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls or emails.

  • Work to understand customer needs and requirements, and act on those with the Megaport services proposition.

  • Learn and develop knowledge of Megaport products and solutions, as well as the products of our key cloud services partners (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, etc).

  • Research current business drivers, business strategic objectives and key stakeholders for prospects to develop solution offerings on our network fabric.

  • Direct hunting as well as partnering with senior dedicated SE team to support growth in ANZ direct market.

What we are looking for

  • Experienced Inside Sales representative with a hunter mentality, and a desire to grow in Sales Executive responsibilities.

  • Demonstrable success in enterprise Solution environment, consistent achievement of or exceeding targets.

  • Tenacious, technical, personable, self-starter and strong-willed HUNTER able to generate business through your own outreach efforts.

  • Be able to articulate a high level of understanding of data networking, cloud computing and virtual private networking.

  • Consultative selling skills with first class communication skills (verbal and written) that allows you to comfortably present with flair both internally and externally.

  • The ability to create your own Go-to-Market Sales strategy.

  • Strong prospecting, qualifying, closing and relationship skills.

  • Comfortable working in a remote, globally distributed work environment with ability and willingness to travel.
