We are currently looking for a Project Engineer - Track to work on the MTM Melbourne Airport Rail (MAR) and Sunshine Systems Alliance (SSA) Project.

The Project Engineering – Track position exists to provide technical expertise related to construction works on the Sunshine Systems Alliance that have an interface with or influence the track structure. The role will utilise understanding of the track structure and the monitoring of track to ensure the integrity of the track is not compromised, ensuring the output is delivered safely and as efficiently as possible.

You will design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems and follows practices and methodologies to ensure the safety of employees, contractors and passengers and that the MTM operating network is not compromised throughout the project life cycle.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support the management of the technical requirements related to the application of The Maintaining Track Integrity Procedure
  • Reviewing performance of works to ensure that the controls are adequate for managing any risks to the operational railway.
  • Support multi-disciplined teams in reviewing designs and assessing the risk posed by works being undertaken within an operational railway.
  • Perform risk assessments of processes, work practices, materials, suppliers and innovations to ensure work is delivered as efficiently and safely as possible
  • Consult with contractors and subcontractors on critical issues that impact on projects and achieve agreement on the most appropriate course of action.
  • Ensure site access and excavation permits and other relevant documentation are adhered to and running progress reports
  • Identify work practices, methods, quality, cost, time, scope and activities that can be altered or improved and develop and monitor onsite quality assurance documentation

About You

  • Tertiary Qualification/Professional qualifications in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience within Victoria Rail Projects would be desirable
  • Experience in working in large scale projects within Multi discipline Design, Construction or Commissioning
  • Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to whilst managing complex situations, having solid problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally & written will all levels of stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to write reports and manage time effectively.
