Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DCPM, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities

The purpose of this role

In the Data Center Project Manager role, you will work with the Data Center Operations Manager and other Data Center Project Managers to drive and implement consistent programs across your data center. With your team, you will enable the build out, onboarding and operationalization of new data center capacity.

  

The Impact You'll Be Making

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities
  • Establish and enhance strong working relationships with customers , internal stakeholders and vendors
  • Create and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on time delivery
  • Plan, manage, and communicate end-to-end project plans with stakeholders and teams and escalate as required to remove obstacles
  • Perform day to day project check-in and update to manage project delivery and quality
  • Identify risks, gaps, Root Cause Analysis and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution
  • Gather and provide feedback on troubleshooting, lessons learned, best practices, and innovations on process/procedures and tools to improve efficiencies and productivity
  • Work with various Engineering, Operations, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, DC Build Managers, and Regional Technical Infrastructure Managers during project planning and execution
  • Learn, live, and coach the One Microsoft culture and values. Lead through change by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering success

Qualifications

What skills do you need to have?  

There will be many opportunities for you to learn and grow into this role and Microsoft. However, to be able to best deliver on the purpose of this role, these are the core skills and experiences you should have on day one:  

  • Demonstrated experience in data center processes and tooling or related experience
  • Strong working knowledge of physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in Critical Environment infrastructures in a 24x7x365 production environment or related experience
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
  • Perform and execute organization’s safety programs and policies, and compliance knowledge assessments
  • Hold applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP or similar.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of Australian Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements, and hold a current NV1 or higher security clearance.
