The Data Platform Team is building platforms that empower our colleagues and customers by making NAB’s data secure, easy to understand, use and enrich.

About the role:

As a Senior Consultant Engineer, you will be responsible for developing data platforms that are safe, efficient, trusted, and capable. This includes platforms providing data publishing, transformation, data access and enterprise-wide data governance with a focus on creating exceptional colleague experience and trust in data.

Day to Day Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing solutions within the platforms
  • Executing, delivering, and hands on of creative data analytic approaches leading to actionable outcomes, developing, implementing, and automating business and reporting solutions, supporting data analysis interpretation
  • Supporting and developing analytical and statistical models enabling informed business decisions
  • Designing, building & testing standardised CI/CD pipelines that enable the deployment of services across NAB
  • Managing a functional area or a collection of related activities to achieve identified objectives. Employees in this group would be expected to provide advice for a variety of diverse tasks or problems based on the application of judgement in their area of expertise/responsibility
  • Continuously improving platform performance, efficiency & capabilities and maintain currency
  • Analysing production incidents when they occur and help work on fixes to resolve problems
  • Collaborating with customers (engineers), to establish their pain points and help drive product backlog
  • Coaching/ mentoring group 3 engineers within the team
  • Operating autonomously and be problem solver
  • Identify & uplift patterns for use in CI/CD context
  • Co-ordinate & collaborate with partner teams to achieve outcomes

What you will bring:

  • Experience with a range of core AWS and/or Azure Services
  • Highly proficient in DevOps tooling, e.g. Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes, ServiceNow, AppDynamics, Splunk
  • Good understanding of software development in Java, Python
  • Proficient in scripting languages – bash, groovy
  • Working knowledge of micro-frontends / microservices architecture & container-based application development
  • A love of automation in large application delivery environments - infrastructure build, testing, development processes
  • Experience in RESTful API development
  • Proficient in solution design Test Frameworks & Test Plans
  • Experience with Collibra will be an advantage.

Qualification Requirements

  • Preferable Tertiary qualified with a Degree in Business and/or information systems.
