The Role:

The role of the Senior Technical Business Analyst will provide critical thinking and a high degree of technical innovation and attention to detail while being recognised as a trusted advisor to the team and stakeholders. The characteristics include being versatile, displaying leadership qualities and enthusiasm to take on new problems across the full SDLC, ultimately assisting in moving technology forward.

As a Senior Tech BA, you'll work in collaboration with other Product Owners, Business BA, Engineers, Engineering Managers, Test Automation Engineers, Business Analysts, and UX Designers. You will be empowered to own key modules of our product where you’ll use and grow your experience to architect and build front end applications on the cloud. As a member of our Agile team, you'll collaborate with other members of your team and the Product Owner to deliver first-class banking software that provides real value to our customers and an outstanding user experience.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Capturing and grooming requirements into epics, features and, user stories for the squad/scrum team
  • Be responsible for coaching, supporting and mentoring scrum framework practices and Agile principals to the teams, product owner and the organisation.
  • Articulate business need and solution requirements
  • Be the driving force and guide the Engineering team to be self-organised, promote a collaborative team environment that foster creativity, innovation, continuous improvement and celebrate successes
  • Gather, analyse, and present data to business and technology stakeholders in a way that demonstrates how the team is improving and growing
  • Manage and build strong, trusted relationships with Engineers and Product Owners to track status of implementation and improve requirements and vision
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to maximise productivity and to ensure effective backlog management
  • Maintain sprint flow by minimising external disturbances, manage risks or impediments and remove blockers and hurdles.
  • Lead and facilitate Scrum events using Agile practices, tools, and processes and create consistency of delivery practices across the teams continuous improvement and celebrate success.
  • Working across multiple squads, support the Engineering Manager with delivery
  • Collaborate with other scrum masters in the platform to continuously improve our processes
  • Supporting Testing in planning, execution and defect resolution.
  • Co-ordinating workshops with key Business stakeholders and Technology asset teams, as required
  • Documenting current ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes and developing requirements from both a Business and Technology perspective
  • Developing, maintaining and owning the Requirements Traceability Matrix and Feature/User Story Backlog
  • Supporting the RTE, Product Owners in tracking and assessing any unresolved scope items.
  • Taking ownership of impact assessment for scope and requirement changes
  • Reviewing project outputs
  • Engaging relevant business and technology stakeholders to elicit, review and validate requirements, solution design and test plans
  • Delivery of Business Analysis@ NAB mandatory artefacts and other artefacts as appropriate and agreed during the project
  • Feedback from project and key stakeholders
  • Compilation of process maps (if required)

Key skills and experience:

  • Experience in the delivery space as a Scrum Master leading squads and working closely with engineers and stakeholders
  • Develop process models, data models, business rules, target operating models, workflows, reporting and other required outputs.
  • Microservice API Swagger- JSON or YAML Knowledge is preferable
  • Experience with API E2E Interface Mapping UI à API à DB
  • Basic Knowledge on SQL Skills is Preferable
  • Create and Demonstrate E2E Scenarios to Business Stakeholders and Technology teams
  • Experience of QA E2E Test scenarios reviews and Execution
  • Basic AWS Cloud Knowledge would be an advantage
  • Understanding of UI Technologies and Developer Tools around it
  • Able to navigate a large complex organisation & build relationship with stakeholders using informal and formal networks
  • The ability to mentor team members to evolve the agile practices and team culture leading teams of up to 10 people
  • Experience with billing and pricing processes and knowledge would be advantageous
  • Strong, demonstrable JIRA (and/or other Agile process tools), including Feature, Epic and User Story oversight experience
  • Effective communicator / negotiator / facilitator
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Strong management reporting skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across Business / Technology teams
  • Banking/Finance industry exposure is preferred.
