The role:

The Trade & Working Capital (TWC) team provides specific functions relating to the ongoing management of our existing customer portfolios for invoice and trade finance, working closely with our Bankers across multiple business segments (Metro Business, Agribusiness & Private Bank).

Working within the Trade & Working Capital team, the Specialised Banking Manager, Business Development Manager, you will proactively research, identify, and source external to NAB and / or internal (existing NAB customer) new trading business opportunities. You will actively work with Bankers and Customers, being responsible for your own portfolio, engaging with customers to deliver the best NAB solutions to meet their needs. You will work to create a presence and high-level Trade Working Capital product understanding and awareness within the organisation as well as the business marketplace whilst managing and ensuring customers payment risk, delivery risk and sanctions obligations are compliant and managed appropriately.

As a Specialised Banking Manager, Account Manager you will:

  • Origination of TWC specialist products and services (Trade & Invoice Finance) within a defined B&PB coverage region.
  • Proactively seeking new business opportunities for TWC and NAB through conversations with clients and their advisers and review of information provided.
  • Identifying customer needs and matching to appropriate solutions in line with the customers aspirations and trade cycle via a thorough review of a customer’s cash flow performance, budgeted projections, and associated risks through their supply chain.
  • Deliver TWC capability to internal NAB stakeholder (Bankers / Credit) to increase awareness of NAB’s ability to support customers working capital requirements through TWC solutions.
  • Building awareness of NAB expertise and specialisation by developing relationships and delivering capability to customer advisors and external stakeholders.

What you will bring!

As our new Specialised Banking Manager, you are an experienced Business Banking Manager / Agribusiness Banking Manager with solid working knowledge of Trade and Working Capital coupled with proven relationship management experience. You are experienced in building and maintaining relationships with Business customers, engage with stakeholders and to work with complexity whilst balancing conflicting priorities will ensure your success. You have deep insights and experience in understanding the pain points and challenges business owners face and can translate business strategy into palatable execution to ensure successful delivery against target.

In addition, you will have:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels across
  • Willingness to learn and develop your skills and actively engage with clients and bankers
  • An understanding of financial metrics and a working capital supply chain.
  • You are comfortable to facilitate presentations to bankers and customers and are able to have a sound operating rhythm
