As our Senior Associate you will support the Controls Performance team in the planning, execution and reporting of control assessment activities across the enterprise. You will be responsible for providing control specialist guidance, support and assisting the business uplift their risk and control environment by undertaking assurance activities in line with the core role responsibilities. This includes (but not limited to) targeted assessments across specified E2E or equivalent processes; or by risk exposure; or obligations.

What you will bring

  • Knowledge and experience in testing control design and operating effectiveness
  • Confidence in challenging and managing stakeholders across the organisation
  • Attention to detail
  • Understanding of Technology risk is highly desirable
  • Audit, Assurance and/or risk management experience in a large banking organization or a large accounting firm
  • Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline (Risk Management, CA/CPA and other relevant courses will be highly regarded or equivalent business experience)

Day to day responsibilities include:

Reporting to the Manager Controls Performance, this role is critical in helping the business to uplift their environment by independently assessing the design and operating effectiveness of controls, identifying control gaps and by coming up with solutions to help uplift the control environment. This role is primarily responsible for:

  • Identify control weakness and insights to improve the organisation’s control environment
  • Assist in developing a best practise approach to testing controls
  • Independently determining control design effectiveness against a control objective
  • Independently creating test scripts and determining control operational effectiveness
  • Assessing the relevance of controls linked to obligations, risks and processes
  • Timely delivery and execution of targeted control assessments and E2E reviews
  • Coaching and reviewing the work (work papers / reports) of their colleagues
  • Assisting Managers with planning, scoping and reporting activities
  • Communicating and agreeing findings with senior business stakeholders
  • Building relationships with business stakeholders and DCO teams and partnering with them to educate them on control identification remediation of action plans and driving control owner self-assessment capability.
