NAB

Location: Melbourne

Job Type: Full time

Posted

  • Be rewarded and recognised for the value you bring, through informal and formal recognition programs.
  • Bring your ideas, ambitions, and passions – both in and outside of work.
  • A diverse and inclusive workplace works better for everyone, and when you work at NAB Finance, you’ll experience the benefits first-hand.

It’s more than a career at NAB. It’s about more opportunity, more moments to make a difference and more focus on you.

Your job is just one part of your life. When you bring your ideas, energy, and hunger for growth to us, you’ll be recognised and rewarded for your contribution in return. You’ll have our support to excel for our customers, deliver positive change for our communities and grow your career.

It’s a good time to see what more you can find at NAB as Senior Associate within our Group Treasury team.

As part of the Treasury Performance team, you will support the core functions of Group Treasury, drive enterprise results and maintain a strong balance sheet to support customers. At a senior level, you will support others in the team in reviewing regulatory information, in addition to having responsibility for reviewing some reporting independently. You would be involved with the Pillar 3 report compilation and review, and other areas of interest will be accommodated where possible.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Preliminary review of two IRRBB APRA returns, after which there will be further review by more senior colleagues in the Treasury External Reporting team.
  • Chairing walkthrough meetings with relevant stakeholders to explain movements in IRRBB risk-weighted assets.
  • Preparing internal commentary for senior management explaining movements in IRRBB risk-weighted assets.
  • Review of other reporting for which the Treasury External Reporting team is responsible.

What you will bring:

  • Strong inter-personal skills to develop relationships within a variety of stakeholders, and influence stakeholders to drive an improvement in the quality of reporting.
  • Strong analytical and excel skills. Understanding of mathematical concepts, such as Value at Risk, would be beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret reporting requirements, including where judgement needs to be applied in interpreting instructions from regulators.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo, identify weaknesses and different ways of doing things, and deliver uplift.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. This includes the ability to prepare concise and clear commentary for senior stakeholders.
  • Practical experience, with graduate qualification in an area such as Finance or Mathematics. Specific experience with IRRBB reporting is not required, provided you have a keen interest in how NAB’s Group Treasury function manages this risk and the related reporting.

By joining NAB and our Finance team, you are committing to putting our customers’ needs first every time. You will be ambitious for growth; always curious and learning from colleagues. You will speak honestly, always valuing the time and opinion of others. You will own your work, doing what’s right, even when it’s hard.

A diverse and inclusive workplace works better for everyone.

At NAB, we’re intent on building a culture we can all be proud of. One based on trust and respect. An uplifting environment where every single one of us feels appreciated and empowered to be our true, authentic selves. A diverse and inclusive workplace where our differences are celebrated, and our contributions are valued. It’s a huge part of what makes NAB such a special place to be.
