The role:

As a Senior Consultant Strategy & Execution you will report to the Head of Strategy & Execution within the Business and Private Banking (B&PB)– the largest business bank in Australia. Your role will be to refine the B&PB Strategy to ensure we achieve our strategic ambition of “Clear market leadership – strongest customer loyalty and fasting growing revenue and market share”.

Your key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Manage and lead the development of the B&PB Strategy, including:
    • Research external market dynamics and conduct competitor research to identify customer trends, technology innovations and regulatory considerations
    • Seek input from a diverse set up stakeholders - create a framework to structure ambiguous problems, synthesize complex information into clear takeaways, assess current ways of working and NAB’s position in the market, translate data into meaningful insights using both qualitative and quantitative methods and develop strategic options and solutions
    • Define the target operating model, develop the business case and prioritise strategic recommendations and priorities for Executive decision-making and sign off
  • Work closely with the B&PB transformation execution teams that drive the delivery of B&PB strategic initiatives to:
    • Define the strategic roadmap to ensure initiative outcomes align with our strategic priorities and benefit customers/colleagues and remain on track
    • Coordinate cross functional problem-solving and decision-making
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to streamline and simplify the strategic planning process (NAB’s annual investment slate budget decision-making process and benefits definition)
  • Ensure progress on the B&PB Strategy is reported on and communicated broadly and regularly to ensure wins are celebrated & challenges escalated and addressed quickly. This audience includes NAB Board, Media relations, Executive Leadership Group, B&PB LT and bankers

What you will bring:

  • Top tier management consulting background to a manager level with a strategy focus
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills and a track record of building rapport and credibility quickly with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and develop a structured framework to effectively communicate insights and recommendations (both verbally and in writing using Microsoft Product suite) to all audiences, including senior leaders
  • Curiosity and a thirst for learning
  • Banking & Financial Services industry experience & Business Banking experience highly regarded
