A fantastic opportunity at nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as Schedule Programmer, reporting to the Network and Complex Team Leader, where you will join the Workforce Operations Centre (WOC) business unit.
A bit about your role
The Schedule Programmer is part of the Schedule Management team that is accountable for taking the capacity plan and producing an optimal work order schedule for the on-the-day teams to execute along with the field workforce. This includes ensuring all work orders are scheduled and are aligned to business and operational priorities to meet SLA’s prior to technician start of day.
You will be responsible for work order validation (receipting, validating and enriching work orders) and creating project plans (for certain work types including MAC), preparation and completion of Before the Day make-ready functions. Other duties include the coordination of outages / CRQ activities, asset management for routine maintenance, coordinating resource planned requests (eg. after hours, volunteers, remote/regional milk runs) and managing the workflow of tickets to meet SLAs.
A bit about you
To be successful the role you will be a team strategist, working closely with nbn groups as well as relevant external contractors, suppliers, industry bodies and other third parties to deliver Workforce Capability.
You will need to possess an excellent understanding of planning, scheduling, and dispatch services to proactively highlight risks to the business, and take action where able, or escalate appropriately. This includes understanding and reacting to the impacts of changing weather conditions, and their impact to a telecommunications network.
You will need to be comfortable working with ambiguity and will need to be able to quickly adapt based on changing conditions and a dynamic rollout schedule.
