We’re proud to be one of the largest gold producers listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. From our Head Office in Melbourne, we work closely with our operations both local and global to safely operate and grow.

Who we’re looking for
Reporting to our Group Manager – Social Performance and Sustainability, this role will support the design, delivery, and governance of Newcrest’s Social Performance strategy, and lead the design, delivery and governance of Newcrest’s Human Rights framework, policies and practices.
The key focus areas of this role will be:
- Supporting the design rollout, governance and assurance of Newcrest’s Social Performance Policies and Standards.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of Newcrest’s Social Performance strategy and roadmap.
- Identifying and providing recommendations to mitigate Social Performance and Human Rights risks across Newcrest
- Leading the design, implementation and governance of Newcrest’s Human Rights framework, policies, and practices.
- Delivering quality disclosures inline with requirements of the ASX and Newcrest disclosure program, including but not limited to Newcrest’s FY24 Modern Slavery Statement.
- Education and training in relation to Human Rights and related legislation to ensure Newcrest activities comply with regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
As our ideal candidate, you will have a tertiary qualification in a related discipline with an ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a wide range of disciplines. A strong and up to date understanding of social performance trends, issues and regulatory requirements, deep understanding and demonstrated application of Human Rights standards, regulatory requirements, principles, and frameworks.
You will have significant social performance experience in mining or other commodities or other extractive industry in a corporate role, including engagement with operational sites. Experience working with Industry and government standards, managing projects in challenging environments at a national and or global scale environments will be advantageous.
