This project focused role will be offered initially as a 2 year fixed term contract, based in Orange NSW.

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Who we’re looking for

As Environmental Monitoring and Compliance Advisor, you will contribute to ensure that all social and environmental work for the delivery of the Cadia Integrated Tailings Project is undertaken in a safe manner consistent with site and project safety requirements. You will provide visible safety leadership through regular performance of FCCC’s and safety interactions.

  • Undertaking infield inspections, issuing corrective actions, tracking closure of those actions and ensuring environmental monitoring and reporting is completed as per Project requirements.
  • Tracking and monitoring performance against plans.
  • Supporting the Environmental and Approvals lead and the HSE Manager in liaising with stakeholders about environmental / community impacts.
  • Ensuring continual improvement in environmental performance through the identification and mitigation of risk and opportunities.
  • Effective liaison with operational technical, environmental, safety, and community relations teams to deliver successful strategic plans regarding environmental approvals.
  • Participate in incident investigations to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Coordinate environmental contractors as required.
  • Assisting with internal and external auditing processes.
  • Contributing to and implementing of monitoring and management plans.
  • Assisting the Environment and Approvals Lead with Weekly/Monthly reporting requirements.
  • Interfacing with CVO environmental department on matters of process for the project such as EIP’s and ensuring that the project maintains an aligned approach to approvals and delivers best for business outcomes.

You will also possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualified with a degree in environmental science or related discipline
  • At least 2 years’ demonstrated environmental management experience, preferably within an applicable industry (Mining, heavy industry, civil construction, or similar)
  • A detailed understanding of the NSW and Commonwealth planning, mining and environmental legislation
