About the Role:

This is an exciting permanent opportunity to join our team as System Operations Planner based in our Burnley depot.

In this role you will assess, prioritise and accept applications for planned access to the sub-transmission, distribution and LV network and produce detailed switching instructions in DMS (Distribution Management System) to provide safe access to the network.

A busy and critical role, you will work as part of a team and will also be responsible to provide operational advice and direction to other business units, external operating authorities and customers.

What you’ll deliver:

  • Develop and implement sub-transmission HV and LV switching instructions.
  • Perform system analysis to determine outage requirements.
  • Customer notification of planned outages
  • Ensuring the busines meets its regulatory and OH&S obligations.
  • Implement appropriate contingency plans and risk management measures.

To succeed in this role you’ll have:

  • Certificate of Technology (Electrical)/ Certificate IV Electrical/ Associate or Advanced Diploma Electrical Engineering of equivalent tertiary based qualification.
  • Very good working knowledge of the electrical network, HV electrical network.
  • Working understanding of VESI & Company Operating procedures.
  • IT Systems – SCADA, DMS, GIS, OMS, SRR, Google Enterprise, ENMAC.
  • Good understanding of relevant regulatory codes.
  • Understanding of construction & maintenance work methods including Z/Substation work & Live Line.
  • Ability to communicate complex operational issues, technical & non-technical.
