The Role

Programmed Industrial Maintenance are currently seeking an Operations Manager - Contracting who will be based out of out of our Keilor Park office, Victoria. The Operations Manager - contracting will be accountable for the growth and delivery of service excellence across the growing contracting arm of the business

We are seeking a candidate who has a strong background in mechanical/electrical contracting with confidence in selling and estimating projects, shutdowns, and maintenance work up to $1 million.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A proven track record in business or contract management gained in a hands-on operational, contractual environment
  • Experience in the heavy industrial, utilities or manufacturing sectors
  • Relevant Qualifications & certificates (Trade/Engineering background advantageous)
  • Current drivers’ licence
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent commercial acumen and service skills

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a growth strategy for the contracting and service business unit
  • Manage and liaise with Project Managers and Account Managers
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Ability to deliver high level Customer Relationship Management that promotes service excellence and client retention.
  • Oversee the recruitment needs of the business unit
  • Proactively visit customer sites on a regular basis to ensure service levels are consistently met
  • Maintaining compliance and an accurate account history for existing and prospective clients
  • Monitors activities to ensure internal controls are in place and effective to maximise financial performance
  • Leads the team in the provision of excellent customer service.
  • Provides clear and transparent communication to both internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality service is always provided.
  • Promotes a Zero Harm culture in line with the business’ safety beliefs and empowers all employees to be involved in HSEQ matters.
