The Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer is responsible for supporting V&V deliverables for the Land 400 PH2 Program, which would include; development of test plans, procedures, coordination, conduct of aspects of the test program and reporting on test outcomes.

As Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Ensure that V&V activities and deliverables are successfully conducted and delivered on time;
  • Support in the maintenance of the Land 400 Verification and Validation Plan and then executing the V&V Program in accordance with the plan;
  • Provide input into the Verification Cross Reference Matrix to define and record all verification activities conducted for Land 400;
  • Plan, schedule and oversee aspects of the verification program, including the development of regression test plans when required;
  • Track and report on the overall status of compliance against the Contract Specification requirements;
  • Participate in and prepare V&V status updates as input to the Mandated System Review activities;
  • Support the development and maintenance of V&V documentation i.e. developing test procedures, manage test articles, updating test plans, procedures and reports and technical files in preparation for V&V activities;
  • Participates in reviews of systems and elements under development to ensure traceability of requirements compliance through verification and validation, when required; and
  • Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your manager from time to time.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics or similar) or a related discipline;
  • Experience in conducting complex military vehicle or automotive test programs, including the capacity to develop verification plans and develop verification procedures and verification reports;
  • Experience in interpreting complex engineering function and performance specifications, and a capacity to identify existing technical solutions to meet these specifications;
  • Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required;
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal communication, consultation and leadership skills
  • Familiar with the use of requirements management software IBM DOORS (Highly Desirable);
  • Be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening;
  • Experience in using data acquisition systems for data capture (Desirable);
  • Previous experience with ballistic and blast testing (Desirable);
  • Knowledge of weapon systems and weapon testing (Desirable).
  • Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
