Operations Manager Service - Southern NSW

The Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership, management and financial result for the Workshop/s, Field Service and Contracts sites within the described geographical region on behalf of the Sales Area. Manage the implementation of the relevant Parts and Service Objectives & Contract Terms at these sites, the role ensures that the regional operations have the right resources and support to secure and deliver these objectives/terms and that these activities can be conducted safely, efficiently, and profitably.

  • Recruiting, mentoring, motivating, training, evaluating and leading team members to accomplish the goals and objectives of the businesses.

  • Managing all resources in the region to ensure an optimum balance between a prominent level of customer service satisfaction, and attainment of financial objectives.

  • Collaborate with Technical Training Coordinator to recruit and mentor apprentices for the growth of the business.

  • Manage the Workshop/s, Field Service and Contract sites in line with regional budgets and P&L’s.

  • Ensure that all Workshop/s, Field Service and contracts sites are managed as a “One Sandvik” service, including workshop repairs, component repairs, field service on site contracts etc.

  • Develop monthly reporting analysis back to the Customer Service & Support Manager.

  • Preparation of Workshop/s, Field Service and contract site budgets, working with Sales & Support Managers to develop Strategic Business growth Plans for specific regions.

  • Developing direct customer relationships with key clients. This may include working with the service teams to facilitate solutions for clients with technical problems.

Your profile  

To be successful in this role a business qualification in Project Management or Business would be beneficial, as well as a background with technical sales management. You have previous demonstrated experience in the leadership and management within the mining services industry, such as a Workshop or Field Service Supervisor.

As the role has a strong focus on key financial measures, you have demonstrated experience with financial reporting. The candidate will have a general commercial and contract review acumen with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate at a senior level.
