The role

We are looking for an experience Electrical Engineer that will be responsible for Electrical support on Sandvik drills and the introduction of BEV. Additional responsibilities for the role include engineering tasks for New Product Development, current Product Engineer & System engineering and all other specified tasks, including design and documentation for products, systems and components in accordance with industry related guidelines and standards. You will develop sales area electrical testing standards and documentation to meet legislative requirements and customer expectation, while ensuring we are in line with changes to Australian Electrical requirements and mine regulations.

Areas of responsibility

  • Responsibility for design and documentation of local modifications – document control
  • Responsibility for Sandvik Electrical licencing requirements
  • Interface between sales area (customer) Electrical requirements and the factory engineering
  • Provide support for factory trials and new machine introductions
  • Investigation, analysis and reporting for electrical failures
  • Electrical infrastructure review support / advice for customers – e.g. infrastructure upgrade requirements for larger motors or BEV
  • Provide input and support in producing maintenance manuals
  • Work with customers electrical departments on support requirements
  • Work with mines departments electrical inspectors
  • Develop change management plans for the Electrical side of BEV drills
  • Low voltage Electrical support & Wi-Fi / Data transfer support
  • Responsible for performing technical calculations and/or simulations relative to engineering tasks
  • Develop competence and knowledge of intelligent automation in local Product support team
  • Support for LOHA BEV implementation

Your profile

  • 5+ years’ experience working as an electrical engineer/ Tertiary qualification – Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with underground mining equipment or experience in mining/heavy industry
  • Demonstrated experience using Flameproof Protection and Intrinsically Safe Circuit Systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, particularly in relation to dealing with customers.
  • Demonstrated Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills, Autocad and NX6
  • Ability to perform under pressure, respond quickly to requests and achieve effective results within given times.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in response to organisational and operational change
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
  • Ability to work independently
