Buying Manager

Support the Head of Merchandise and Marketing in developing and implementing a clear Merchandise plan to drive category and product growth.

The Opportunity

Ready to make an immediate impact? Reporting to the Head of Merchandise & Marketing, primary purpose of this position is to develop strong category management competency within the business, ensuring commercial success.

Create well defined range architecture plans for each of the key categories, centred around hero products, signature categories and private and exclusive ranges to support retail, wholesale and e-comm channels

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Create well defined range architecture plans for each of the key categories centered around hero products, signature categories, private and exclusive ranges to support retail, wholesale and ecomm channels;
  • Define a clear customer focused product and brand strategy in line with the Customer Value Proposition, ensuring differentiation in assortment and pricing;
  • With the HOMM, develop and execute a clear private and exclusive curated label strategy;
  • Motivate and encourage team member engagement through strong strategic plans and thought leadership;
  • Draw conclusions from market data, consumer insights and industry knowledge to assist in formulating merchandise planning.

We are looking for:

  • An experienced merchandise leader who has successfully managed a large merchandise remit preferably in the retail, FMCG, or Wholesale industries and ideally having had some exposure to a franchised environment;
  • Demonstrated skillset in retail brand building capability, ideally across a multi brand portfolio and multi-channel;
  • Development of strategic merchandise plans and the successful execution of these plans;
  • Experience in product development and sourcing
  • Experience in the preparation of management reports;
  • Experience in management and analysis of financial reports and budgets.
