The role

Asset Integration is a multi-faceted team which was created to collaborate with cross divisional stakeholders in order to provide technical and operational advice during the concept, design, construction, and commissioning and handover phases of new assets.


The Senior Technical Advisor (Electrical) – will be responsible for providing technical input throughout asset delivery lifecycle and oversee commissioning and handover of end-to-end process for electrical plant and equipment. Provision of post-commissioning feedback on operational performance will be essential to allow for enhancement and improvement opportunities. Establishing and fostering collaborative relationships with Maintenance, Operations, Asset Creation, Standards teams, and industry partners will be essential to this role to deliver high quality assets.

Who are you?

To be successful in this position you will have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a 10-year post apprenticeship trade experience as a commissioning engineer or an electrician, as well as;

  • Extensive experience and demonstrated competency in commissioning/handover of plant, water, recycled and sewer assets and equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated competency in QA Principles, AS/NZS Standards, Codes (WSAA), Industry (MRWA) standards and applied practices.
  • Good understanding of asset management philosophies and practices with experience in constructing, operating and maintaining water, recycled water and sewerage networks and network assets;
  • Extensive knowledge of current electrical standards and willingness to drive and/or influence creation of new or updating existing electrical and instrumentation standards.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematic drawings.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and civil principles.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and PLC is an advantage.
