Manager HSRT

The opportunity
Make a difference in this role, working collaboratively with teams across the operations and projects at Illawarra Metallurgical Coal by providing visible safety leadership. Create and foster an inclusive workplace with a strong culture of care and accountability.

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, you will lead the HSRT team to effectively manage the execution of activities across the operations and projects within IMC. As an integral member of the Senior Management team, you will plan and implement the strategic direction of HSRT and develop and be accountable for relevant commercial outcomes of the sites.
You will provide specialist and strategic support to ensure the HSRT programs and Management Systems adhere to internal standards, regulatory and operational requirements

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

About you

You will have proven experience in a HSRT leadership role with some experience working at an underground coal operation. You will be solution focused and have an innovative approach to HSRT management. In addition to this you will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Science/Engineering/Safety)
  • In-depth understanding of key concepts, theories and practices related to the effective management of Health, Hygiene, Safety, Risk & Training.
  • Experience in leading multi-specialised teams
  • Ability to develop, coach and mentor employees to improve engagement, diversity and capability
  • Demonstrated ability in setting strategic visions and leading change in a heavy industry environment
  • Sound presentation, facilitation and influencing skills

This position will be based at the Illawarra Metallurgical Coal Office in Wollongong, located approximately 75 kilometres south of Sydney
