Location

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is a South32 Company, the operation is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. GEMCO controls and operates all aspects of mining, processing, logistics and shipping on Groote Eylandt.

Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963

The Opportunity

The role of Heavy Vehicles Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for work activities that continually present assets/equipment with the capacity to deliver sustainable operations within business objectives.

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Planner, this role is a 7:7 Roster, either residential on Groote Eylandt or FIFO Darwin or Cairns on a full-time ongoing basis.

Accountabilities :

Primary responsibilities are but not limited to:

• Identify the need for maintenance and initiate or action Notifications/Work Requests to required standard
• Plan work - determine and confirm scope and priority, build task lists, confirm work requirements, develop work packs and build work orders
• Ensure equipment is maintained to produce no significant impact on HSEC standards and minimises impact to process or production
• Update Master data, and/or recommend master data improvements
• Demonstrate and encourage behaviour to deliver planned output within business objectives (no harm to people, environment and assets), while promoting and building a culture of continuous improvement.
• Consolidate and provide the 12-week schedule (weekly granularity) and a week plus 3 weekly work schedule (daily granularity) to relevant stakeholders
• Upload the weekly schedule into the weekly planning tool for equipment availability forecast
• Comply with the 1SAP Work Management processes to scHedule work based on the prioritisation as determined by Production and Maintenance requirements
• Initiate expediting process and provide information to Supply to ensure material availability based on criticality of work as defined in the prioritisation process

About you

You will have proven experience working in a similar role within the Mining or Heavy Industry and have a passion for driving continuous improvement.

In addition, You’ll be a great fit if you have:

• Trade Qualification or recognised technical knowledge in a HV mechanical trade
• Previous Planning and Scheduling experience
• Relevant equipment experience, Cat 777F, D10/11, Hitachi 2500 Excavators.
• Ability to work to deadlines, to prioritise and to work under pressure
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and SAP (1SAP)
• Relationship building, problem solving and leadership skills
