About the role

As our company has scaled, we are expanding our risk management and compliance capabilities across our three lines to support our ambitions of driving better performance and commercial outcomes, protecting our brand and people and our desire to grow a sustainable and resilient business. Reporting into the GM of Risk & Compliance, you’ll be accountable for ensuring Sportsbet manages its strategic risk profile and key compliance obligations in accordance with its policies, frameworks and various global risk initiatives under Flutter Entertainment. This is a people leadership role where you will oversee and manage a team who look after Strategic Risk, Privacy and Policies, as well assurance that Sportsbet’s controls are operating effectively to consistently meet its obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the identification, management and reporting of strategic risk (Sportsbet’s top enterprise risks).
• Facilitate the ongoing maintenance and evolution of Sportsbet’s risk profiles in collaboration with the Leadership Team
• Management of risk reporting to Flutter Global Risk (and an ability to shape a global agenda)
• Compliance Management activities by the second line, including in the key areas of privacy, compliance reporting management and assurance programs
• Propose and coordinate actions to communicate, implement and monitor risk management policies, risk appetite and risk limits
• Maintain a good understanding of the relevant regulatory and non-regulatory requirements and provide advice and guidance to the business and management
• Prepare reports to be submitted within the governance forums in Sportsbet and Flutter and act as a key representative in such forums

Sportsbet operates in a highly complex and ever-changing sector where the perception of the industry and its practises bears significantly on its operating environment. It is critical that Sportsbet manages its positioning and reputation through deliberate risk management.

About You

This role is inherently linked to our risk management strategy and will be a thought leader both internally and externally on risk and compliance management. Therefore, we are looking for someone who has:

• Solid experience (8+ years) in working across complex business environments and diverse stakeholders
• Track record of preparing and delivering risk and compliance materials that influence senior stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in operational risk management and control advisory in a compliance capacity
