About the role

The Manager, Electrical Systems & Service Delivery has a key role in implementing and overseeing the electrical systems and work processes in Stanwell’s renewable maintenance services business. The role will work closely with the Renewable Maintenance Services team, Corporate Electrical Safety Committee/s and other teams across the Growth & Future Energy division and Stanwell more broadly.

The role is primarily responsible for the electrical work conducted by Stanwell’s Renewable Maintenance Services business, ensuring compliance with all legislative and company requirements. Also central to this position is the leadership of electrical maintenance service delivery and contract performance, as well as building workforce capability and future skills strategies to ensure renewable energy maintenance services are consistently delivered.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that systems, procedures, and methodologies are in place to support the service delivery.
  • Accountable for service delivery performance, meeting client’s expectations, and driving future demand.
  • Accountable for the delivery of the Electrical Balance of Plant maintenance services.
  • Develop and maintain a broad network of relationships with potential commercial partners and other stakeholders in the renewable energy sector.
  • Represent Stanwell in public forums and conferences to promote Stanwell’s renewable maintenance services business.
  • Support the maintenance services proposal’s cost builds and service delivery methodologies.
  • Prepare regular reports on business growth status and progress for communication to governance forums, Executive Leadership Team and Stanwell Board.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity reporting to the General Manager, Renewable Maintenance Services. The location for this role can be at any of our Stanwell sites including Brisbane CBD, Tarong Power Stations (near Kingaroy) and Stanwell Power Station (near Rockhampton).

About you

We are looking for someone with a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in energy or related industries, with an excellent understanding of asset, maintenance, and cost management.

Other skills and experience required include:

  • Skills in power generation, power systems, protection systems, and reactive power/system support functions.
  • Knowledge of safety programs and recognition of importance of safety in the workplace in the solutions you have delivered.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplined teams and working collaboratively with corporate, industrial, and local community partners.
  • Experience in developing and managing service delivery budgets and forecasts.
  • Highly developed communication skills and experience dealing with internal stakeholders to ensure that strategies and objectives are well understood and achieved.
  • Well-developed analytical, oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex information, including strategies, plans and reports to Stanwell’s Board and senior management.

Relevant qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering discipline (highly desirable).
  • Post graduate studies in commercial or maintenance fields (highly regarded).
  • Front line leadership/management (desirable).
  • Hold the qualification as Qualified Business Person (QBP) under the Queensland Electrical Safety act or commit to obtaining the qualification within 6 months of taking up the position.
  • Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) and eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia (desirable).
