We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

We are on the lookout for an individual who offers passion, enthusiasm and strong relationship building skills to join our Health & Safety team.

Establishing and maintaining professional relationships, strong communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset will be key to your success in this role. With over 1,000 people in our business, safety is our number one priority. Every day, it’s our goal for our people to come to work and return home safely to their families

As Safety & Wellbeing Partner you will:

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with our workforce and leaders to understand their work, priorities and the needs of the business
  • Promote commitment to safety and wellbeing across multiple business units through providing subject matter expert advice and support
  • Review/create Health & Safety standards and procedures and aid in the creation and delivery of associated training
  • Develop business cases to secure funding and resource support for Health & Safety improvement initiatives
  • Provide effective project management of Health & Safety projects and initiatives including managing project scope, time, quality, cost, deliverables, risks and issues.
  • Define and implement effective change management and stakeholder communication strategies

About you

We are after someone that is passionate about the safety and wellbeing of our people across the state.

Having knowledge of the Codes of Practice on Electrical Safety (Blue Book & Green Book) along with Electricity Safety (Network Assets) Regulations, Electricity Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act is desirable for this role, but not essential

Experience in incident reporting and investigation, Safety and Wellbeing management systems, system audits and compliance program will be key areas of this role.
