About the Position

The Senior Design engineer will lead a team that contributes to the design, production design, test & evaluation and production management of large rocket motors through the High-Speed Weapons Program.

Working with our customers, partners and sub-contractors you will be given opportunities to position yourself for a role as a future leader through undertaking task, work-package and product management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the program and project teams to understand the context and customer needs

  • Ensure the feasibility of the technical solutions including:

    • the adequacy of the solution in term of architecture and technology maturity with respect to solution requirements

    • the consistency of the technical solution within the business’ strategy

    • the feasibility with respect to cost, schedule, skills, resources and industrial organisation

  • Hold the position as Product Design Authority (when delegated) for relevant products and to discharge the responsibilities in a professional manner

  • Ensure that activities are undertaken in a manner which satisfy the requirements of the contract, the Thales business management systems and all other statutory legal requirements

Requirements

  • IEAust recognised Chemical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree

  • Design development experience on complex systems and an industrialisation environment

  • Experience in the defence, aerospace and manufacturing sectors will be well-regarded
