About the Position
The Senior Design engineer will lead a team that contributes to the design, production design, test & evaluation and production management of large rocket motors through the High-Speed Weapons Program.
Working with our customers, partners and sub-contractors you will be given opportunities to position yourself for a role as a future leader through undertaking task, work-package and product management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the program and project teams to understand the context and customer needs
Ensure the feasibility of the technical solutions including:
the adequacy of the solution in term of architecture and technology maturity with respect to solution requirements
the consistency of the technical solution within the business’ strategy
the feasibility with respect to cost, schedule, skills, resources and industrial organisation
Hold the position as Product Design Authority (when delegated) for relevant products and to discharge the responsibilities in a professional manner
Ensure that activities are undertaken in a manner which satisfy the requirements of the contract, the Thales business management systems and all other statutory legal requirements
IEAust recognised Chemical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree
Design development experience on complex systems and an industrialisation environment
Experience in the defence, aerospace and manufacturing sectors will be well-regarded
