Utilising this knowledge and experience Thales Australia will deliver a harmonised Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS) known as OneSKY, in Australia to Airservices Australia and Defence. This will enable a new level of safety and efficiency, while also reducing delays for the travelling public and providing opportunities to improve environmental outcomes. OneSKY will transform Australia’s sky and we are proud to be partners in its delivery.

Working within a talented and highly collaborative team, this is an opportunity to work on a completely greenfield product, the first in the world and something that will redefine our skies from a safety, efficiency and environmental impact.

About the role:

The System Engineer is responsible for designing and documenting solution proposals, with reference to a defined system functional baseline, to satisfy customer requirements and project/bid cost targets.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Derive, document and design solution proposals at subsystems
  • Subsystem ticket management, including verification of changes implemented and close tickets
  • Follow up with various teams on peer review and release process
  • Facilitate convergence meetings
  • Milestone reviews slide pack preparation and presentation.
  • Subsystem tickets acceptance

Ideally you will possess:

  • Knowledge of the systems engineering life cycle, from concept design, requirements capture and management, system and subsystem design, system integration through to test strategies and acceptance
  • Ability to turn complex issues into an appropriate level of detail in a methodological manner through the application of structured systems analysis and associated engineering processes and tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Defence Sustainment Engineering processes, tools and practices would be highly desirable
  • Experience with tools such as DOORS and JIRA
