About Your Role

As part of our Vehicles and Tactical Systems business, our Protected Vehicles team is primarily focused on the design, manufacture, delivery and support of protected mobility vehicles on a global scale. We are very proud of everything we do in support of both the Bushmaster and Hawkei platforms as we all work together towards our Purpose in Building A Future We Can All Trust.

We are transforming key areas of our operations and this critical role will see you ensuring operational and strategic performance in line with our broader Industry and Organisational strategies. This exciting new career opportunity will see you;

  • Play a lead role as you deploy your specialist knowledge within Protected Vehicles as you collaborate with and influence other Leaders, functions and teams across; Production and Repair Teams, Supply Chain, Engineering, LEAN, Planning/Logistics and other functional areas

  • Implement and execute the Industrial Strategy (and Business Continuity Management Plan) to support both operational requirements and strategic business objectives as you focus on industrial activities across our complex operations

  • Drive business performance and overall delivery against unique customer requirements and a growing project portfolio, ensuring our functional areas are aligned to support our ongoing success, while also ensuring that the organisation is set up for future state

  • Ensure that we are investing in key business assets to support both current and future operations, while also developing future workforce capability as you respond to a variety of challenges

  • Sponsor and promote various transformation activities and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN, CLPF, Andon, KAIZEN, etc.) and ensure rigorous compliance with our operating model to ensure that standards are applied consistently

  • Participate in various review activities, complete regular reporting (and related commentary) and provide specialist insights as you leverage your skills and experience in support of senior management and the wider Protected Vehicles (and Thales Australia) organisation

How About You?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with demonstrated experience in a similar senior role, ideally gained within a similar organisation (Manufacturing, Engineering, Defence or similar)

  • Depth of knowledge and experience across Manufacturing, Engineering and other related technical areas (Production, LEAN, Quality etc.) coupled with proven leadership capabilities as you achieve outcomes through people/teams

  • Previous success in overseeing operational and strategic performance across large-scale and complex organisations that has seen you collaborate with varied functions and stakeholders groups

  • Well-developed project management skills with the ability to leverage data and systems to shape decisions and deliver against operational and strategic priorities

  • Those with relevant additional post-graduate qualifications will be viewed favourably
