The Star Entertainment Group is looking for a Project Manager to join our Information Technology team based at The Star Gold Coast.

The Project Manager is accountable for the efficient and effective management of designated projects and resources to deliver successful project results that align to the strategic objectives of the business and align with stakeholder expectations.

You will be responsible for providing expert IT project management advice and leadership, ensuring that any risks and issues are identified and effectively managed. You will also ensure that projects achieve the required outcomes and deliverables, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of scope, time, cost, and quality. Primarily focused on delivery of Technical Infrastructure projects including WiFi, LAN & Server, with some application solution delivery.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the key to success in this role involves the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects within the prescribed internal project delivery frameworks and covering all required project delivery disciplines and key knowledge areas.

Other tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project Start-up and Initiation:

  • Manage scope throughout the life of the project.
  • Assist with the preparation of business cases including financial assessment & estimates.
  • Prepare and manage project plans, including timelines, key milestones, budgets and resource requirements, which ensure the successful delivery of the project.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage resource requirements within delegated projects.

Project Delivery:

  • Manage projects and ensure that key outcomes, contractual requirements, and key deliverables are met.
  • Manage the project effectively and efficiently to ensure the budget and project plan objectives are met.
  • Manage the overall plan in conjunction with senior managers to ensure work is assigned and completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that risks and issues are identified and managed.

Project Closure:

  • Ensure that all administration and financial activities are completed upon project completion e.g., Project Closure Certificate.

Project Financials:

  • Own and manage the project budget, which includes preparation of Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) and Project Monitoring Report (PMR).
  • Manage the expenditure of project budgets and prepare associated financial summary reports for members of the steering committee, the executive and project board.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing; monitor receivables for project, ensure all invoices are produced and payments made.

Project Reporting:

  • Prepare project status reports and other reports for members of the steering committee, the executive and project board as required.
  • Ensure that all project communications are dealt with in a professional manner and within agreed timeframes.
  • Complete a post project review and project completion report in conjunction with other key stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Project Management, Business, Commerce, Technology, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Industry recognised certifications in the practice area and related areas of domain expertise including but not limited to PMI certification and PM Methodology (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBoK)
  • Significant verifiable experience in IT Project Management and PM tools
  • Experience managing relationships with internal business customers, including Property Development and Property Operations teams, and external providers
  • You will have demonstrated experience in the following:
    • Working on Wi-Fi and Network (LAN / WAN) deployments and / or related infrastructure projects at a technical PM capacity
    • Working with data cablers, networking integrators, carriers and other technical experts
    • Liaising building managers for the purposes of scheduling installations and equipment removals
  • Driving installations of WAN, LAN, WiFi and cabling technologies
  • Experience undertaking project related procurement activities
  • Capable of a very hands-on approach to managed IT service provisioning and management
  • Minimum 5 years in a project management environment managing small to medium projects involving technology solutions across organisational departments and external stakeholders.
  • Strong track record of project delivery within set parameters
