As a Senior Project Manager - Pavements within the Transurban Delivery team, you'll contribute to making communities stronger by working across a portfolio of projects across our Sydney road network and infrastructure. You'll join a team of Project Engineers and Managers working together, pushing further and delivering on time and on budget. This requires a hands-on, skilled Project Manager who works collaboratively but is incredibly self-sufficient.

Being a Senior Project Engineer at Transurban makes you a key member of our Project Delivery team meaning you will hold the responsibility for the management and delivery of assigned civil projects in line with Transurban Project requirements.

The impact you'll have:

  • You'll manage and successfully deliver a diverse capital maintenance suite of projects across a range of Transurban's assets including Lane Cove Tunnel, M2, Eastern Distributor and Cross City Tunnel
  • You'll ensure project budgets are appropriately forecast, managed and accruals are accurate
  • You'll provide design reviews, responding to client enquiries from contractors
  • You'll manage a team of internal and contract Project Managers and Engineers
  • You'll liaise with Roads and Maritime Services, legal professionals, other engineers and contract managers
  • You'll oversee technical co-ordination of asset systems
  • You'll review and have input into as-built documentation, maintenance manuals and operational procedures
  • You'll monitor safety, construction methodology, quality and environmental practices
  • You'll plan, manage and monitor systems and make recommendations in relation to them
  • You share your knowledge by mentoring junior employees

The talents you'll bring:

  • You'll have demonstrated your ability to work autonomously and make well informed project decisions sometimes with little or no notice.
  • You'll bring a wealth of experience in all functions of project management, gained working in construction or engineering environments.
  • You'll have a solid grasp of contract administration and/or engineering contracts.
  • You'll establish and streamline management systems and processes ensuring timely delivery of construction milestones and the project.
  • Analytical and incisive, you'll be able to comprehend and interpret a range of information and data, e.g. safety processes, safety statistics, road usage, and accidents trends.
  • You're commercial, engaging, assertive, and a natural builder of relationships - you'll enjoy getting on the front foot, embedding yourself in the business and connecting with stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.
  • You'll have tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline with a roads or systems background and familiarity with the RMS
