At Transurban, our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) teams use the brightest ideas and most inspired engineering to translate into safer, more efficient roads to enhance the road-user experience.

They also create roads for the future with automated toll collections, advanced control systems that monitor and manage traffic on the road and use machine learning to detect traffic incidents and even predict when an accident is more likely to happen. They're making roads ready for driverless cars and using smart traffic flow and signalling to get us to where we're going faster. A career here makes a difference you can feel.

The Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project from planning, to execution through to implementation and transition. Expected projects will range from medium to large infrastructure or ITS projects and span time periods from six months to multiple years. Some projects will involve managing multiple streams of work concurrently, often with varying degrees of complexity and the engagement of multiple subject matter experts.

The impact you'll have

  • You'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered according to the objectives, timeline and budget set out by the sponsor, the EPMO Governance Framework and TAMS - Transurban Asset Management System.
  • You'll monitor alignment between the project, Infrastructure and ITS architecture and other functions within technology and other business units such as Project Delivery.
  • You'll have end-to-end management of all project phases from requirements analysis, solution design, development, systems testing, training and implementation in accordance with the project methodology.
  • You'll build relationships that matter, connecting with people in Transurban and out.
  • You'll never stop improving, keeping up to date with emerging technology and our own knowledge base.

The talents you'll bring

  • You're a successful Project Manager, with a minimum of 5yrs PM experience across the full project lifecycle and with skills in project management tools, schedules, risks, budgets, forecasts and other financials.
  • You possess relevant PM certifications, (i.e. PMP, Prince) and a tertiary qualification could be advantageous, aiding your understanding of technology/ IT/ ITS areas.
  • Whatever your background - infrastructure, defence, telecommunications, mining, rail, the energy sector - you'll know how to deliver successfully and collaboratively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • A natural people person with strong relationship management, communication and influencing skills, you're able to coordinate multiple people to achieve goals.
  • Analytical and incisive, you'll spot issues and use your own ingenuity - and that of your team - to solve problems collaboratively.

The rewards you'll earn

  • We'll make sure you have the tools you need to work smart and live better - including remote and flexible working.
  • We'll develop you the way you want, with, training and career planning.
  • We'll help you be healthy with flu vaccinations and mental health support through our EAP and wellness facilities.
