About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, the role of the Site Engineer is to deliver the day to day operations ensuring contract compliance and project deliverables.

Acting to support the Senior Project Engineer, the Site Engineer will liaise and work closely with the Ventia project team, field workforce and sub-contractors to ensure on time delivery of design activities, construction, technical implementation and work orders.

What you’ll be doing:
This position requires the successful candidate to be able to quickly understand complex issues, systems and process to solve, progress, resolve and develop improvements to the benefit of the project and client.

You are also responsible for ensuring that any potential problems are noted and acted upon before they become service impacting, and are required to liaise closely with the client, project partners and field workforce

Other responsibilities include:

  • Lead and assist colleagues in carrying out their responsibilities by providing support and guidance
  • Supporting the day to day operations of the project and escalating critical and non-critical events that occur, liaising and supporting project and non-project staff as required.
  • Ensuring contactor contractual and OH&S compliance in the Ventia VisRES system
  • Completing financial and administrative duties including data processing and financial reconciliation
  • Delivering work performance to ensure that no contractual or commercial obligations have been, or may be, breached risking imposition of damages or penalties.
  • Review commercial/contract matters and understand contract requirements
  • Deploy resources to ensure they are appropriate for work levels and satisfying contractual obligations

About You

  • A Tertiary degree in Engineering or similar discipline desirable but not essential
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally in Communications & Networking
  • Experience with Aviation Communications (VHF, air navigation systems, etc) advantageous
  • A strong background in Technical Communications networks and designs
  • Experience in financial and project management data management
  • Understanding of the legislative requirements relating to employment and OH&S
  • Experience in the management of sub-contractors
  • Experience in negotiating with sub-contractors and supply contractors
  • Able to deliver projects on time, to cost and quality
