About the role
The Sustainability and Environmental Manager is a key leadership role in developing sustainability services offerings and in delivering strategic and environmental results to key clients predominantly in the Transport Sector.

What you’ll be doing

  • Co-ordinate and deliver elements of Environmental Sustainability Management Programs including preparation of environmental plans, reports, and management of environmental initiatives.
  • Manage information and report to the client as required in relation to specific projects, achievements against targets, and new initiatives.
  • Identify and implement environmental improvement initiatives and ensure the delivery against agreed milestones in line with NSW legislation and ensure the delivery against milestones.
  • Integrate service delivery with industry performance frameworks such as ISC, ISO, NABERS, etc.
  • Keep up to date with changing legislation, sustainability frameworks, and industry trends to support the delivery to clients
  • Lead the delivery of Sustainability Services in partnership with the client
  • Liaise with appropriate bodies (Industry Associations, Government Co-ordinating Agencies, electricity, and water supply organizations, etc)
  • Own and maintain client relationships and be the key liaison person for sustainability advisory services
  • Support all client and internal audits (as required)
  • Strengthen stakeholder and client relationships
  • Lead with an energetic approach to work and team achievements within a no-blame environment

About you

  • Relevant training and qualifications in Environmental/Sustainability Studies, Science, Engineering, and/or related disciplines.
  • Experience in sustainability initiative identification and sustainability project management
  • Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional or in the process of completing the training
  • Experience with ISO 14001
  • A sound understanding of industry Corporate Social Responsibility Frameworks and Sustainability related legislations
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency and experience with the use of PowerBI an advantage
