About The Role
Due to major growth with our clients Ventia are seeking an experienced Telepower Design Engineer (Electrical) within our Critical Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Design Manager, this position will be working to develop electrical detailed designs, produce cost estimates of materials and labour, assist the construction team during the construction of the projects and update data base and as built drawings.

Key duties, but not limited to:

  • Define scope of each work order, design the work, and complete all the supporting documentation.
  • Produce Bill of Materials, estimate task durations and produce quotations and cost estimates.
  • Review all drawings, BoQ and technical issues for approval and as-built documentation.
  • Generate site preliminaries inspection reports.
  • Coordinate CAD work, preliminary design, detail design, and drawing register to deliver outcomes as agreed (costing, equipment, and description).
  • Review Standards and Specifications to ensure compliance of the designs.
  • Assist on the modification and creation of SQL and MS Access Reports and applications to manage existing and new databases.

Skills & experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an electrical designer or an engineer in the Australian telecommunication industry.
  • Technical fluency on Low Voltage and DC power.
  • Proficiency on bill of quantities preparation.
  • Proficiency in interpreting CAD drawings.
  • MS Access, MS Power Automation and Power Apps desirable.
  • A current manual driver’s licence
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, OH&S legislation/guidelines, and environmental legislation/licensing.
