You are a confident and experienced leader who has engineering expertise to ensure optimal operational performance of our water assets.
While providing leadership and support to your team of 5 professional engineers of various disciplines, you will also work closely with our Operation and Maintenance Teams and numerous Corporation stakeholders. You understand the importance of a stakeholder engagement within the organisation, so you prioritise your customer relationships, and are comfortable communicating at all levels. It will be your approach to stakeholder engagement/management and your ability to bring groups of people together that’s most important here.
Organisational skills and multi-tasking are a critical aspect to this agile nature of work in Operations Group. You will manage time efficiently and effectively, plan well, and be equipped to tackle unplanned issues.
What the role will involve:
The first 12 months will be a big learning opportunity for you, you will gain excellent exposure to Water Corporation’s core business and be challenged and supported to further develop your technical, commercial and leadership skills. Your initial focus will essentially be to build network relationships and have an understanding of the fundamental elements of your role.
You will be responsible for the planning, coordinating and advisory function in relation to the operational management of Groundwater Operations Assets including responsibility for Water Quality, Water Treatment and Source Water governance and compliance. You will have a balance of working in office and at our sites.
Part of this will be an attention on the optimisation and managing water services sustainably to make WA a great place to live and invest.
You will work with a crew that are very team focussed. Forming strong relationships with your colleagues will be pivotal for optimal performance. Your peers believe in having open and honest conversations to establish solutions to problems. There is a lot of trust among one another, and you will have support from your team.

Key skills and experience:
- Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline
- Previous leadership of high performing team
- Experience in water/large utility
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid WA Driver’s License
