We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Operations Engineering Team Leader at our Perth city Location on permanent full time basis.

About this role

This role leads a team of engineering professionals and is responsible for delivering Transmission and Distribution Realtime Operational Engineering support services, maintaining, and creating operational engineering documentation, operationalisation of new assets, schemes and equipment and Transmission network performance reporting

Key accountabilities of the role

  • Manage and provide technical leadership in the development and training of all team members to ensure the skills are balanced and the team functions effectively
  • Supply recommendations for short-term primary network security, reliability, and capacity constraint management (operating the network within limits) as well as contingency plans
  • Create and maintain guidelines, standard operating procedures, and other technical documentation
  • Undertake operationalisation of new and modified assets, systems, and equipment
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on engineering matters relating to operations
  • Develop operational guidelines/procedures to operate the network and support the development of network operations policies and standards.
  • Management of complex operational/technical situations, identification of areas of concern and implementation of remedial action to achieve business outcomes.
  • Report Network statistics through the transformation of data into information on the performance of the network including detailed analysis.

About you

We’re seeking someone from within our workforce with experience and attributes that include:

  • Demonstrated people management skills with ability to coach, motivate and lead a multi-disciplinary team
  • Extensive experience in an electricity utility business or related associated with the provision of effective operational engineering services
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Eligible for Chartered membership Engineers Australia
  • Demonstrated power system experience
