We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Scada Engineering Technician at our Perth Head Office, on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

About this role

As the Scada Engineering Technician you will be required to apply high level technical engineering knowledge and skills in delivering complex SCADA & Information Systems to ensure high availability of Western Power’s real-time systems and their critical functionality while also Demonstrating technical leadership in required discipline, maintaining and co-ordinating relationships with other internal technical stakeholders and ensuring alignment with the rest of the business with respect to SCADA commissioning.

About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Qualified in Electrical Trade or Diploma in Engineering with related power industry or control system background
  • At least 7 to 10 years sound industry experience and knowledge of SCADA installation, commissioning, maintenance and operations practices and procedures
  • Detailed understanding and working knowledge of SCADA system designs and configurations
  • Computer literate - particularly with complex networked or distributed systems
  • Detailed knowledge of the database and display configuration of the SCADA Systems
  • Familiarity with electrical transmission and distribution networks and equipment
  • Familiarity with electrical network control room operations
  • Experienced in construction, maintenance and operation of electrical networks
  • Knowledgeable in safe operating and network access practices
  • Strong orientation towards engineering & technical excellence
