As a Senior Lawyer, you will contribute to the management of WorkCover’s legal panel and common law claims portfolio, including the maintenance of a legal audit and performance monitoring program, and support WorkCover’s legal risk framework by providing legal advice and support to internal stakeholders.
In this role you will be responsible for providing high quality advice and strategies to minimise our legal risk and achieve business outcomes. You will get the opportunity to partner with internal stakeholders across all business areas including IT, human resources, finance/procurement and claims management on strategic business projects.
Admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, your 5+ years of post-admission experience is evident in your practical problem solving, verbal, written and presentation skills including the ability to present recommendations clearly and effectively.
With a proven ability to achieve successful outcomes, your understanding of legal issues in relation to corporate governance, commercial and procurement/contract issues, litigation and insurance is coupled with a strong financial/business acumen including the ability to interpret financial and statistical reports.
Comfortable managing complex and sensitive consultations, negotiations and partnership arrangements with a wide range of stakeholders, your willingness to contribute to the team and to work effectively and collaboratively with stakeholders will assist you in achieving group and organisational goals.
