Our Digital and Technology Group is growing to support WorkCover Queensland’s digital transformation. We are looking for capable, curious, collaborative individuals who are excited to be at the forefront of our journey and help deliver exceptional digital services for our people, customers, and stakeholders.

We’re looking for a Cyber Analyst to join the Cyber Security team

We are a team that is committed to building a Cyber Security capability that empowers and enables. This operational role will maintain and improve WorkCover Queensland’s Cyber Security capability.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Maintain and contribute to continuous maturity uplift with the organisations SOC/SIEM partner
  • Monitor, audit and report on security governance to ensure adherence to architecture, policy and procedures including network security controls, firewall devices, remote access, intrusion prevention system(s), endpoint security, email security and patch management
  • Maintain & drive remediation actions from vulnerability scanning including threat intelligence, vulnerability scanning, vulnerability assessment, reporting and escalation to minimise risk
  • Contribute to security incident management including security event analysis and reporting, incident analysis, containment and resolution

A bit about you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (or progress towards) or demonstrable equivalent experience would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in security operations including maintaining and improving security capability
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical, problem solving and operational change management skills
  • Preference for experience in the following technologies:
  • Rapid 7 Nexpose
  • Proofpoint and Proofpoint Trap
  • Microsoft security stack

Sound understanding of security and regulatory frameworks such as:

  • NIST CSF
  • Mitre ATT&CK
  • ISO27K
