About the role
In this role, you will develop software for mobile products on our android platform. You’ll continually work on delivery and product improvement. You will be joining our cross functional, App Layer focused mobile team at Xero. We are a tightly knit team that is passionate about what we deliver. We engage fully in our product at the research, discovery, prototyping, implementation and end of life phases. We see ourselves as the foundation product teams.
Every day will bring different challenges, but the key areas of your job will be to develop a deep understanding of the business domain that will help the team to build quality software and deliver customer value.
You'll work closely with a collaborative team to prototype, build, and test high quality apps; Identifying shortcomings in current technology. This role will give you the opportunity to work alongside both senior and lead engineers within the team.
At Xero, teams are expected to maintain all components which make up their product, which could involved some API/Service work in the form of BFFs (Backends for Frontend).
The successful candidate may be expected to lean into .Net Core as a way of supporting that effort.
About the Team
Xero Me is our employee self-service app for employees working in small businesses to easily manage work related paperwork and admin on-the-go, all in a single place.
Over the past year, Xero Me has received a lot of updates to modernise the application and has a large backlog of improvements and modernisations that we are actively working on. There are also exciting opportunities to work with product and design on future customer features.
The app consistently rates 4.7/5 stars on the Play Store and there is a huge opportunity ahead to further grow the reach of this app to positively impact employees that work in small businesses worldwide.
