The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven and proactive individual, with strong communication and stakeholder management capability to lead and oversee key the delivery of our transformation programs and bring together resources and capabilities of the team and broader business to define transformation initiatives and ensures alignment with the Transgrid’s strategic objectives.

Ideally the Transformation Manger will be someone who has strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking abilities, and passion for delivering results.

To be successful in this role you will be someone who is a self-starter and who takes the initiative solve problems and improve conditions. Someone who is able to work well with ambiguity and able to get to the core of the problem. Lastly, the Transformation Manager role calls for someone with strong leadership skills, awareness and the ability to increase performance from people, process and systems.

As the successful Transformation Manager you will:

  • Plan, manage and deliver Transgrid’s transformation projects and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using leading project and transformation management tools
  • Identify, design, and implement transformational shifts in process, technology, capability and culture aligned to the achievement of organisational strategy
  • Consult into project and project work streams, identifying areas for improvement, redirecting efforts, offering up solutions where required for delivery on time and within budget
  • Deliver high quality visual presentations, communicating both data-driven and conceptual information effectively, as well as communicating key concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Respond with agility to changing business and transformational requirements to achieve corporate objectives
  • Facilitate post-transformation reviews and support the business in identifying lessons learned
  • Diagnose strategic challenges and opportunities to distil complex issues succinctly so that root causes and critical path lead to actions to deliver greatest impact
  • Support TMO (PMO) Governance capability by questioning and challenging the existing project management tools; methodology, frameworks, templates, policies and processes for use across the Transformation program, enabling PMO capability growth

To be considered for the position, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, postgraduate education in business or management is desirable
  • 10+ years’ professional experience in internal and/or external consulting roles
  • Experience in business strategy, business transformation, technology transformation, customer experience, process improvement or operating model
  • Lean/Six Sigma certified and/or Certified Process Professional will be well regarded
  • Well-developed interpersonal, soft skills with demonstrated ability to manage key relationships across a varied stakeholder group, internally and externally
  • Sound leadership skills and ability to work well within a team with comprehensive working knowledge of operational/process excellence in business processes and organisational framework, such as goals, strategy, culture and structure particularly, in IT programs
  • Advanced business acumen in understanding process metrics and end-to-end process change implementation
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and creativity to ‘think outside the box’ with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Relevant industry experience (infrastructure / utilities experience preferable)
