About the Role

The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.

Leading Shutdown activities for our Fixed Plant assets, we have a number of opportunities for Supervisors to join our team. This team of Supervisors benefit from working across 3 of our sites providing new challenges and varied scope of work during each shut.

Leading a team of Contractors, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
  • Executing the shutdown plan in conjunction with Site Maintenance Execution, our Maintenance Centre of Excellence’s Planners, Schedulers and other stakeholders
  • Promoting a high level of team interaction and coordination
  • Optimising the utilisation of resources throughout the shutdown
  • Identifying and providing input in the continuous improvement of our shutdown process
  • Liaising with the Fixed Plant team to develop, validate and challenge the scope of work, including preparation requirements, isolation requirements and maintenance activities
  • Liaising with the Shutdown Scheduler to ensure schedule is updated during execution to reflect performance against plan
  • Liaising with contractors for various activities such as mobilisation, task execution, close out and demobilisation

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • C Class drivers licence
  • 2+ years Supervisory experience essential
  • Fixed or mobile plant maintenance experience beneficial
  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification desirable
  • Strong safety leadership skills
