What will your typical day look like?
Audit & Assurance Quality & Risk (AAQR) is responsible for overseeing the deployment, adoption, maintenance and monitoring of “audit and assurance” related methodology and solutions. This role is primarily focused on the ISAE/ASAE 3000 suite of standards (other assurance reporting). The role involves supporting teams with “assurance” related queries and reports, work papers and technologies to plan, execute and document their work as well as monitoring and risk sensing activities over these types of engagements. As more and more organizations are seeking assurance on subject matters that are not traditional financial statements, there has been increased focus on the assurance engagements standards. As the need for assurance grows within the Australian market we are seeking an additional team member, to help support the expanded scope of training, deployment, implementation and review of other assurance related topics.

The AAQR team is a national team that supports delivery of high-quality audit and assurance engagements. The opportunity will provide challenging and varied work and you will be responding to consultations from practitioners in relation to the application of the methodology or risk related matters in the audit and assurance space. You will provide practitioners with guidance on how to use our audit tools and respond to international working groups on audit and assurance transformation with practical and technically sound coaching through in-flight monitoring programs. You will influence lead or participate in programs of work to improve engagement quality including developing tools templates and resources to assist practitioners in performing their engagements. You will also participate in working groups on new professional standards or ways of working and preparing communications to raise awareness of the changes. You will be monitoring reviews of audit and assurance engagement files including articulating any gaps to professional standards or Deloitte requirements and leading discussions with the partner and engagement team.

About the team
An experienced agile and cohesive team that are focused on improving audit quality and managing risk in the business through being trusted advisors to the business delivering the technology and content enablers providing learning and support material and leading the monitoring programs. We also partner with the Transformation team to enhance the audit experience for practitioners through standardisation codification and automation.

Enough about us let's talk about you
We are looking for someone with:

  • CA qualifications (or similar) with 5+ years audit or other relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of audit and assurance standards.
  • Understanding of the ASAE/ISAE 3000 suite of standards (other assurance) and/or experience with or working on assurance engagements
  • Interest in development of practice aides, guides and training to support the deployment and adoption of new and updated standards as issued by the Australian Auditing and Assurance Board (AUASB)
  • Attention to detail to ensure external reporting and work is performed in accordance with assurance standards
  • Strong risk-sensing radar and ability to think critically. You take responsibility show initiative and put forward innovative ideas
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and complete tasks/projects in a timely manner and to a high standard
  • Some experience in a role within audit quality risk management and/or learning is beneficial but not mandatory
