INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS MANAGER (NATIONAL)

Reporting into the Group IR Manager, the IR Manager is responsible for working collaboratively across the stakeholder groups, to deliver both best in class strategic and operational industrial relations practices for the operations business units that support their key business drivers and requirement. This role will provide specialist IR/ER support to the Executive General Managers, regional managers and the business P&C teams.

About the role

  • Working with key business managers develop and implement IR/ER strategies to meet business outcomes.
  • Assist the business to represent UGL dealings with union officials on site and assess Right of Entry requests
  • Recognise and mitigate industrial risk items at the point of tender and the project lifecycle
  • Ensure alignment of IR/ER outcomes to key business initiatives including Group-wide IR Strategies
  • Representing UGL at FWC for conciliation and arbitration matters as required
  • Delivery of tailored IR/ER Training to key stakeholders such as Project Leadership Teams

About you

  • Degree qualified with significant and substantial experience (minimum 10 years ) experience in Industrial Relations or Business Law
  • Relevant project construction industry experience
  • A depth of experience across the full range of IR and ER activities
  • Industrial advocacy experience in Fair Work Commission
  • Experience to provide written and verbal advice on a day to day basis and offer sound, practical and accurate advice and solutions for the business across all IR/ER aspects such as strategy, enterprise bargaining and dispute management
  • Possesses the ability to develop strong working relationships key internal and external stakeholders with site-based management, union representatives, employees and client IR personnel, and capacity to influence decisions relating to IR/ER matters
