Job Description

Reporting to Trade Compliance Manager this position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with trade regulations & for mitigating import and export risks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global trade policies and regulations
  • Prepare and submit Export Control Licenses via SPIRE
  • Support License and Permit applications globally, manage renewals
  • Support due diligence activities (Denied Party Screening)
  • Manage relations with customs authorities and brokers
  • Manage Trade Compliance mailbox and databases
  • Engage in classification and country of origin review process
  • Support preparations for internal/external audits relating to Export Control and Trade Compliance matters
  • Participate in cross-functional projects relating to trade compliance
  • Troubleshoot ad hoc customs related issues in support for both internal and external customers


What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience
  • Qualification in customs compliance or international trade is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of import/export regulations, documentation and record keeping
  • Deep understanding of core trade compliance areas – Tariff Classification, Customs Valuation and Rules of Origin
  • Experience in UK regulations regarding Export Controls
  • Explorer mindset
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to work both as part of the team and independently
  • Experience with MS Office programs required; Experience with Oracle GTM is an advantage
  • Excellent social skills, optimistic and adaptable attitude
