Job Description

This highly visible Strategic Vendor Management role ensures value and quality delivery for Abcam from Key Strategic Digital Vendors through effective engagement, strong vendor relationships and consistent ways of working.

The role will ensure that vendors deliver successful outcomes and value for money, whilst minimizing risk/impact to employees and customers through financial, reputational, legal, business continuity and performance risk exposure or otherwise.

This role will ensure that the full contract life cycle for each Digital vendor, from engagement, delivery to end of contract, is fully managed.

Other responsibilities are the following but not limited to;

  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to understand and align vendor contracts with Digital Strategy
  • Negotiate contractual terms with vendors to achieve quality, supply, service and cost targets
  • Agreeing terms such as service levels, billing, credits, governance frameworks, & reporting
  • Leading quarterly/monthly/annual service and strategic reviews, including vendor performance metrics
  • Share the strategic vendor management vision, strategy and business plan to all key stakeholders

Qualifications

You will be a great communicator being able to influence and build relationships with stakeholders and vendors. Your experience will be from a working within a vendor, procurement or supply chain management role, ideally from within a life science environment. You should also possess strong commercial acumen to be able to translate business needs into tangible vendor management and procurement strategies, to drive value.
