Job Description

Abcam is seeking a qualified accountant with experience of US GAAP to implement and develop work on the conversion of financial information from IFRS to US GAAP. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to work in a fast-paced environment in a growing multi-national business that operates under a SOX environment and is transitioning to reporting under a multi-GAAP framework. Working with a range of stakeholders, in a number of different countries, this is a dynamic role and an opportunity for a finance professional to make an immediate impact.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Input and maintain GAAP adjustments (from IFRS to US GAAP) in the Group’s consolidation software;
  • Update the group accounting policy manual to be compliant with US GAAP;
  • Create ‘skeleton’ documents for US reporting (10-K and 10-Q);
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors (internal and external) on GAAP adjustments;
  • Develop and roll out processes for multi-GAAP reporting;
  • Assist with the conversion of the consolidation from reporting in GBP to USD;


You will have a professional qualification and post-qualification experience working at a similar level in a Group Finance environment, preferably within a listed, multinational business. You will have a strong understanding of both US GAAP and IFRS. You will need the ability to work alongside and influence senior members of staff.
