Job Description

As we continue to grow, we need more amazing scientific talent to help deliver to our customers. To support our Antibody Development Platform, we now have a new Scientist role, reporting to the Senior Manager Antibody Development within our R&D team. This role will be responsible for the development and management of our antibody discovery projects, supporting project quality with scientific evaluation of required reagents, feasibility, strategy and co-ordination between relevant teams and third-party suppliers to ensure timely project delivery.

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative Scientist who will work very closely with our Antibody Development teams globally, so effective cross-functional teamwork is a must.

The primary focus of this role will be development of RabMAb antibodies against valuable targets to help our customers discover more. This is an exciting opportunity for someone aiming to grow their career in scientific management and antibody discovery to ultimately deliver the best products to our customers.

The job is based at our Cambridge (UK) site, but the job holder will work closely across several teams in our global locations, especially the US. The role is not lab based and will have a 70% scientific nature and 30% project management,

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the end to end process of target level antibody development until publication while ensuring alignment with Target Product Profile.
  • Immunogen design and identification of appropriate immunisation strategy and screening materials relevant to support antibody design and technical scoping
  • Support outsourcing activities with our 3rd party suppliers. Ensure timely initiation of requests and receipt of relevant project materials is achieved.
  • Reviewing antibody and characterisation data using typical methods
  • RabMab development in the UK, developing a sustainable pipeline
  • Reviewing monthly performance and keeping the team on track

Qualifications

You will have a PhD in life sciences or related field and a number of years experience gained in either academia or an industry setting. You will have some experience of antibody development along with immunogen design and epitope prediction. You will also have an understanding of cell signaling pathways, epigenetics, cancer or immunology.

You will be highly organised, with outstanding attention to detail, and comfortable working to deadlines. You are comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment where effective communication is key, as this role involves dealing with external suppliers and being able to collaborate across multiple countries and internal stakeholders.
