Job Description

Reporting to the Global Payroll Leader, you will be working as part of the wider Human Resources team, supporting the delivery of abcam’s Payroll Operations activities in all our locations globally across UK, Europe, USA & APAC. The role is a fixed term contract with the expectation that the project elements are completed by end 2023.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Payroll Manager in leading, inspiring and mentoring a small team of payroll experts to operate global payroll in line with SOX compliant procedures
  • Support the accurate & timely processing, payment and submission of payroll
  • Employment tax-related filings
  • Liaise with internal and external providers as necessary, acting as a key contact with payroll and benefit providers and governmental authorities
  • Map processes, mitigate risks and develop & maintain standard operating procedures for People Services Operations – i.e. to satisfy in full the “Data Entry” requirements of the Payroll SOX processes
  • Contribute to internal and external payroll audit processes

Qualifications

You will have a detailed understanding and working knowledge of global payroll processes, providers and relevant legislation. You have participated in your company’s review and selection of a global payroll provider – with experience of in-sourced and fully out-sourced solutions.

You have worked in an international environment with experience of UK and US payroll, and experience of working with the payroll aspects of all-employee share plans. Experience in working with payroll and benefits systems and internal reporting platforms.
