Job Description

As we continue to make amazing progress across our Research and Development function, we now have an exciting opportunity for a scientist to join our Cell Engineering Team. You will join a rapidly growing group focused on generating a large collection of physiologically relevant cellular models for the scientific community.

In this role, you will be involved in custom CRISPR based cell engineering projects within the cell engineering team. This involves working on E2E cell engineering projects (from design of reagents to characterisation of cell lines) to generate knock-out and knock-in cell lines.

This is a full-time laboratory-based role. You will contribute and present data in meetings to help drive project progression. You will be expected to stay up to date with scientific literature, maintaining a solid awareness of emerging technologies that could be deployed to strengthen our platforms.

Qualifications

You have a PhD in Biology or a related discipline along with at least 3 years experience in an industry environment. You have experience with cell culture (adherent and suspension), transfection methods and basic imaging techniques. You will have the ability to design and run your own experiments and have strong problem solving skills.

You are a committed, enthusiastic, and motivated person with relevant technical knowledge, analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for learning. As this is a constantly developing field, you will need to be swiftly responsive, adaptable, and able to deliver impact quickly with new tasks and new technologies. You are a real team worker, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to respond to change. It would be great if you also have experience with CRISPR reagents design (i.e., sgRNA) and primer design.
