Oncology Data Science Platforms

The Oncology Data Science – Data, Analytics, and AI Platforms (ODSP) team comprise multiple groups across the Cambridge UK, Boston MA, Gaithersburg MD, and Munich DE sites. ODSP develops technology, software, and data infrastructure to advance our Oncology data science. Our vision is to evolve data science into a driver of innovation within Oncology. We do this by creating a strategic culture that values our data as a true business asset, organizing our data so that it’s accessible and easy to find, integrated, and re-usable for Humans & AI, and building the best data computational tools to support scientific decision making.

What you’ll do:

  • Build a scalable application operating in digital pathology and computational image domain

  • Craft the future of our web-based products for users around the world

  • Build digital experiences across consumer health and SaMD applications

  • Contribute to the software development lifecycle: designing, implementing, testing, and operating new and existing features

  • Influence the technology stack

  • Work as part of a team to develop new solutions for our customers

  • Own the definition of best practices by bringing functionalities from an idea into a successfully deployed system ensuring our products meet and exceed business expectations

  • Collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams, including Product, QA, Science, and Business units

  • Ensure timely delivery of products and features with a high degree of quality, effective tests to prevent bugs and grow test coverage, to improve stability and increase team velocity.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential for the role:

  • Significant software engineering background and capabilities with a strong knowledge of modern software engineering patterns and architectures

  • 8+ years of professional Software Programming experience

  • 4+ years of professional JavaScript experience (TypeScript preferred)

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with ReactJS framework

  • Experience in designing and developing RESTful API

  • Experience with databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), non-SQL (MongoDB)

Desirable for the role:

  • Experience with cloud service backends (AWS)

  • Experience with orchestration tools and virtualized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Working in an agile project team using SCRUM or a similar framework

  • Experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

  • Professional experience in any other programming language is a plus (e.g., Python, GO, C++)

  • Regulatory knowledge, i.e GxP, and SaMD is merit
